SEASONAL WEED SPRAY OPERATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

NATURE OF WORK

This is a seasonal job where the applicant will work with direct supervision of the Weed Superintendent in the performance of daily spray operations.

EXAMPLES OR WORK PERFORMED

Operation of 4-wheel drive trucks and equipment used for spraying. Ability to mix chemicals, use backpack and pick-up sprayers, daily maintenance of equipment, trucks and shop maintenance under direct supervision of the Weed Superintendent.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

Knowledge of common weeds and have the ability to distinguish noxious weeds. Be able to use responsible judgment in all spraying situations. Be able to comply with all pesticides application regulations. Be able to lift 50 pounds; read and follow instructions.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Valid Nebraska driver’s license with a clean driving record.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, be able to read, write and pass background check.
Must be able to mix chemicals according to written and oral instructions.
Must have regular attendance and be punctual.
Must have the ability to work at a job site, work indoors or outdoors in any type of weather.
